Welcome to Stanley Chorus 2007-2008

Musical greetings! I'm so glad that you've chosen to sing with us this year. Please familiarize yourself with our Web site and purchase a SmartMusic subscription. Please be sure to read the content in the Information for Stanley Families folder and merge all Chorus events on the Student Calendar with your family's calendar.

We have an exciting year ahead of us. Our kick-off concert will be at the Ice Cream Social at the Book Fair. We're also planning to have the San Francisco Opera Guild return for a special Opera Assembly in late November (more information to follow). We'll sing at the Winter and Spring Concerts with the bands and string groups. In the Spring, we're hoping to tour the elementary schools again and collaborate with them for a very special "District Choral Festival." In May, we'll journey to CSU East Bay to hear other choruses and be evaluated at the CMEA (California Music Educators Association) Choral Festival. Our annual finale performance will be outdoors at the 8th grade graduation.

Parents, please feel free to come and visit our rehearsals; we'd love to have you sing with us! Also, if you're interested in volunteering in the classroom, our music library database is under construction and parent help is needed. At Back to School Night, I will be giving a short presentation on how to practice effectively at home with SmartMusic. Singing with SmartMusic is a really fun way to develop and improve music reading and singing skills. Please feel free to contact me with any questions you may have.
