How to do things with the Web site, mailing lists, and DBSchools applications

Posting Email Directly

The three main email lists:

stanleymusic-gigs@stanleymusic.org Community gig announcements (moderated)
stanleymusic-public@stanleymusic.org Stanley Music public announcements (moderated)
stanleymusic-students-parents@stanleymusic.org Stanley Music announcements for students and parents (moderated)

are set up so you can post to them directly. Just send your plain (not HTML-formatted) email to the appropriate one of those addresses, and include this as the very first line of the email:

approved: xxxxxxxx   (where xxxxxxxx is the password you have been given)

This keeps unauthorized people from posting to the list without permission. Please review these:

Use Firefox, and go to stanleymusic.org/edit

Click on the Contents tab

Click on "General Events" in the center

 

Capturing Diagnostic Information from DBSchools Application Failures

Pat reports that sometimes the DBSchool Music Testing Program fails and has to be restarted. This procedure shows how to turn on some features that will enable collecting diagnostic information needed to solve the problems.

Running the DBSchools Music Software

Administer or test students
Push "Trust" when asked about an application signed by Dave Briccetti

If you have problems, delete all the JNLP files, and clear the browser cache.
